SC E-committee Organizes Digital Accessibility Information And Communications Technology Training

The programme covered all types of categories of disability. The CJI, who is the Chairperson of the e-committee took suggestion to improve the infrastructure for the visually impaired employees and also asked the High Courts to improve the digital accessibility.

A two day programme on digital accessibility Information and Communications Technology (ICT) training was organized by the e-Committee of the Supreme Court  for the visually challenge Judges and Court Staff at the Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA), New Delhi.  The resource persons were R Arulmozhiselvi, Member (HR), Manish Verma, Director of National Institute for the Empowerment of Persons with Visual Disabilities  (NIEPVD) and Dr Surabhi Pandey of the IIPA.

The exercises and training included the creation, access, use and storage of digital documents, reading of court documents using screen readers and instant reading devices, using smartphone oriented assertive technologies, use of AI for the accessibility and so on.
