A Mumbai court on Wednesday pronounced its verdict on the bail plea filed by Shiv Sena Member of Parliament Sanjay Raut in the money laundering case against him.

Raut was arrested in the Rs 1,034-crore Patra Chawl land scam case. The Shiv Sena leader was facing strong allegations hinting towards him using public funds for private gain. It was also argued that although money was routed through his aide Praveen but the minister was the beneficiary of the alleged money laundering trail.

On the other side, Raut's Counsel has maintained that the alleged money trail has been accounted for and well explained.

Meanwhile, the Judge on Wednesday granted bail to Raut in the case. It also declined ED's prayer for a stay on the order in order to file an appeal against the verdict.
