Delhi High Court Notifies Rules For Live Streaming And Recording Of Court Proceedings
Laying the ground rules for live streaming, the rules give discretionary powers to the Judge concerned if he or she wants to opt out of live streaming at the time of pronouncing the verdict.
In a notification released to this effect, the Delhi High court has said that subject to the exclusions contained in the rules, all proceedings will be live-streamed by the court.
As per the ‘Live Streaming and Recording of Court Proceedings Rules of the High Court of Delhi, 2022’, live streaming refers to live television link, webcast, audio-video transmissions via electronic means or other arrangements whereby any person can view the proceedings as permitted under these rules.

Likewise, live streaming will be paused when the court is not in session.
The rules also stipulate non-recording of live-streamed proceedings for social, print and electronic media to prevent unauthorised use.
Besides, the expected mandates, the rules lay down some housekeeping norms to be followed during the live streaming of proceedings like following court room ettiquetes and maintaining discipline.
