L&L Punches Above With Its ESG Practice

To build a ‘Legacy of Giving Back’, as envisioned by Founder and Managing Partner, Mr. Rajiv K Luthra, started ‘The Paani Foundation’ with Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan and his ex-wife Ms. Kiran Rao.

L&L Partners has boosted its green initiatives both internally and externally and has set a carbon-zero target across all its offices. To implement this, the firm has set up a robust ESG practice and a ‘Green Project’ committee to integrate its business strategies and processes with the goal.

The firm has partnered with organizations like EQ Magazine, India Wind Energy Forum, and Renewable Watch, where it shares insights with the leading corporates on renewable energy, carbon technologies, and regulatory regime for a sustainable future.

To build a ‘Legacy of Giving Back’, as envisioned by Founder and Managing Partner, Mr. Rajiv K Luthra, started ‘The Paani Foundation’ with Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan and his ex-wife Ms. Kiran Rao. The organization started the project of watershed management with 116 villages in Maharashtra and is now close to over 6000 villages. The team’s unyielding efforts created over 550 billion litres of water storage capacity in the state and the project has been ranked the ‘No. 1 Earth Healing Project’ in the world!

The firm is actively working on paperless practices, providing a greener environment (through the ‘grow trees’ initiative), and advice on sustainable projects. The firm had acted on Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Limited (IREDA’s) ₹268 crore financial assistance to Blu-Smart Mobility - the first deal under IREDA's scheme, to finance new and emerging technologies that promote and increase the usage of renewable energy in the transport sector. The firm also advised Neev Fund on their investment in Chakr Innovation - a leading Climate Tech company combating air pollution and KKRbacked Virescent Renewable Energy Trust in India’s first ever non-convertible debenture issue in a renewable energy infrastructure investment trust (InvIT)

The firm is expanding at a rapid pace, and has added new verticals to its existing portfolios and has also increased its total tally with three more partners, eleven associates, and seven professionals in the last couple of months.
