Khaitan Bengaluru Partner Arun Scaria Joins Singapore VC Firm Tanglin Venture Partners As General Counsel

Tanglin Venture Partners is an early-stage venture capital firm targeting high-growth start-ups in India and South East Asia.

Arun Scaria has joined VC firm Tanglin Venture Partners as general counsel in Singapore.

Scaria, who started his career with Nishith Desai Associates in 2009, joined Khaitan in 2017 as Senior Associate and exits the firm as Partner. According to media reports, Khaitan has also seen the exit of Bengaluru partner Rishabh Bhardwaj, but his destination is currently not clear as reported by ALB.

Scaria is part of a recent wave that has seen partners turning to in-house leadership roles. In April, Roshan Thomas exited Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas to join Byju’s, while Pratibha Jain left Nishith Desai Associates for Everstone Group. Prior to this, Damini Bhalla departed L&L Partners to join Zomato. However, going against the tide, Bharti Enterprises group general counsel Sameer Chugh joined Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas as Partner in Delhi last month.

Tanglin Venture Partners is an early-stage venture capital firm targeting high-growth start-ups in India and South East Asia. Their key sectors of investments include SaaS, Fintech, Consumer Tech and Creator Economy with investments in companies like Moglix, Plum, Ninjacart and Public amongst others.
