Delhi assembly's 'Peace and Harmony' Committee has issued a notice to Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut over her objectionable Instagram post for hurting the religious sentiments of the Sikh community.

It illustrates the instances which hurt the religious sentiments of the Sikh community and have a tendency to ''disturb'' the peace and harmony of the society, a statement issued by the Peace And Harmony Committee said. .

According to news reports, a recent Instagram post made by the Queen actress has caught the ire of the Sikh community. In her controversial social media post Ranaut allegedly compared the Sikh community to Khalistani terrorist organization. The FIR registered against Ranaut under section 295A for deliberately outraging the religious feelings of the Sikh community gives details about the post in question in which the leading actress has hailed former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi for dealing with Khalistani terrorists strongly.

Ranaut's exact post reads is as under.

"Khalistani terrorists may be arm twisting the government today.. but let's not forget one woman.. the only woman prime minister ne inn ko apni jooti ke niche crush kiya tha.. no matter how much suffering she caused to this nation.. she crushed them like mosquitoes at the cost of her own life.. leking desh ke tukde nahi hone diye.. even after decades of her death.. aaj bhi uske naam se kampte hai.. inko vaisa hi guru chahiye..."

While, the due process in the matter will take its own own course, Ranaut's social media activism and social commentary on political issues has courted more controversies than praise.

The committee expects the actress to appear before it on December 6, 2021. 

''Given the gravity and the importance of all these issues in the NCT of Delhi, the committee on Peace and Harmony under the chairmanship of MLA Raghav Chadha has summoned Kangana Ranaut to appear before the committee so as to deliberate on the present issue in a more comprehensive and coherent manner,'' the statement said.
