Ld. Special Judge, Rouse Avenue Court Complex, New Delhi has dismissed the interim Bail Application on medical grounds moved on behalf of Mr. Gautam Thapar, considering his deteriorating health, today i.e. 19.05.2022.
During the course of proceedings the Ld. Special Judge had requisitioned Medical Status Report of Mr. Thapar from the Chief Medical Officer, Tihar Jail, New Delhi. The Medical Officer In-Charge of the Central Jail opined that Mr. Thapar continues to have persistent left sided chest pain, palpitations, vertigo, blackouts, severe lumber pain and his previous records show severe co-morbidities. The report further stated that any delay in investigation and intervention may lead to an irreversible damage.
Counsel for Directorate of Enforcement, Mr. NK Matta, Advocate, strongly objected to the Bail Application, stating, that the jail authorities are well equipped to provide necessary treatment.
Despite deteriorating health of Mr. Thapar, severe medical history with co morbidities, the Ld. Special Judge has dismissed the Interim Bail Application preferred on behalf of Mr. Thapar.
Mr. Thapar was represented by Mr. Sandeep Kapur, Senior Partner, Karanjawala & Co. and his team comprising of Mr. Vir Sandhu, Mr. Rajat Soni, Mr. Vivek Suri, Mr. Mridul Yadav, Mr. Abhimanshu Dhyani and Mr. Sahil Modi. The team had briefed Mr. N. Hariharan, Senior Advocate to appear on behalf of Mr. Thapar.
